Newsbrief – Sex for tickets, 23rd, Guest List, and Water Contest

Memo to Susan Finkelstein, the lady who allegedly offered sex for world series tickets – Stay off the television! I was willing to give you and that cheap lawyer of yours the benefit of the doubt until I saw your kisser on CNN the other day.

You just couldn’t keep that smirk off your face, could you? A smirk that clearly said to me, “I know exactly what I did and I’m going to get away with it.” Good luck.

Dede Scozzafava

It’s all over in New York’s 23rd, well almost – Newt Gingrich looks like (and must be feeling like) a douche today as GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava quits New York’s 23rd district congressional race. The real winner here is Sarah Palin, who received plenty of criticism for endorsing the Conservative candidate Hoffman but will now reap the rewards, especially if Hoffman can win. Hoffman still has to get past Democratic candidate Bill Owens but Scozzafava’s departure gives him much less to worry about.

White House Guest List Contains All of the Usual Suspects – There don’t appear to be any bombshells on the partial guest list released by the White House on Friday. Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney and Alan Greenspan are a few of the notable names that have showed up on the closely examined list. Not that we sould expect any bombshells. Even when the White House releases more names later in the year, some guests won’t make the list because of security and ‘privacy’ concerns. So much for transparency but at least we know a little more about who has the President’s ear.

Family of mother who died in radio station contest awarded 16.57 million dollars – Remember Jennifer Strange, the 28-year-old mother who died drinking too much water in a radio station contest back in 2007? A jury has just awarded her family 16.57 million dollars sending a clear message to the radio industry - beer is the only way to go with these kinds of contests! When your listeners pass out, they’ll know it’s time to quit. But a water drinking contest…? Come on!
